The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, & Criminal Justice invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Social Work position to begin August 15, 2017. It is preferred that candidates have experience teaching or can potentially teach HBSE or generalist micro practice. The search is open with regard to areas of research specialization. Applicants must demonstrate or have the potential to produce scholarly research as well as teaching effectiveness. Applicants with ABD status will be considered if degree requirements will be completed by August 15, 2017.
Located near many cultural and recreational resources in suburban Detroit, Oakland University (http://www.oakland.edu) is a state university enrolling approximately 20,000 students. OU is a partner in the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. A unit of the College of Arts & Sciences, the interdisciplinary department enrolls approximately 1000 undergraduate majors. The Social Work Program enrolls approximately 225 majors and 200 pre-social work majors. In addition, the Social Work Program is offered off-site at the Anton Frankel Center located in Mount Clemens, Michigan.

An M.S.W. from an accredited social work program, two-years post M.S.W. experience in the field, a Ph.D. in Social Work or closely related field, and training in clinical social work are required at the time of appointment.
