Twelve centers and institutes enhance academic research and provide professional development and training at the college.John Jay College of Criminal Justice, within the City University of New York (CUNY) system, is seeking an experienced strategic enrollment management leader for the position of Vice President for Enrollment Management. Reporting directly to the President and working closely with the Provost, academic unit chairs, student life staff, and the other members of the President's leadership team, the Vice President will lead strategic recruitment and play a key role in retention initiatives across the college.The vice president's responsibilities includes: * Promote the mission John Jay College and the welfare of its students. * Provide counsel to the President and Provost. * Lead John Jay's enrollment function with vision, integrity, inclusiveness, sound judgment, wisdom, and energy, engendering a team approach across the integrated functions of admissions, financial aid, as well as with the many other departments that are touched by and engaged in the enrollment effort. * Routinely analyze data to shape strategic directions and make appropriate adjustments to an integrated and strategic enrollment effort that clearly identifies and defines historical enrollment patterns and forecasts trends in new student markets; regularly reassess effectiveness of recruitment activities and financial aid programs and make appropriate adjustments so as to lead an effort that is continuously proactive and responsive to market forces and college needs. * Engage in continuously reflective, analytically rigorous, and technically sophisticated dialogues with senior leadership about enrollment realities and possibilities. * Work closely with the President and other senior leaders to optimize financial aid, pricing, and the leveraging of institutional resources to recruit and retain students. * Communicate regularly with the college community to broaden enrollment initiatives, inform progress and share results, including frequent dialogue with chairs, faculty, and senior administration, conveying the vision for enrollment goals along with the tradeoffs and complexities involved in meeting those goals. * Promote open conversation so as to engage and galvanize the entire John Jay community in working together to achieve the enrollment vision. * Establish strategic direction, priorities, and goals for the overall enrollment division and for each office within the division, making data-informed proposals and decisions, and linking budgets and expenditures to measurable outcomes while seeking both standard and creative ways to achieve enrollment goals. * Guide a creative, forward-thinking program of student financial aid, maintaining fiscally responsible leadership, and tending to the needs of current and new students alike. * Further develop a strong enrollment staff that is optimistic, excited about change, responsive, innovative, analytical, collaborative, results-oriented, and student-centered. * Shape and lead the development and marketing of non-traditional and international enrollment strategies. * Fulfill other related duties as assigned by the President.John Jay College dedication to providing a dynamic liberal arts education focused on justice in today's world. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.Preferred QualificationsThe ideal candidate should have a minimum of ten years of responsible senior level enrollment management techniques and a proven capacity to lead a wide variety of enrollment management functions.
