The Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach a range of upper- and lower-level courses in criminal justice, both in-class and online, and possibly supervise field work. The primary focus of this position is teaching, and the ideal candidate is one who is committed to full-time undergraduate teaching. Additional responsibilities include student advisement, assessment, department and college-level committee work, new course development, program promotion and development, and on-going professional development.
Required: Master's, doctorate preferred, in a criminal justice or closely related field at time of appointment with college-level teaching experience a must. Commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential. Ability to teach a range of lower-level and upper-level undergraduate courses in criminal justice as well as a variety of lower-level courses in sociology.
Preferred: Experience in online teaching and professional experience in one or more of the following: law enforcement, local or state corrections, probation or parole, management or assignment of personnel to operational functions, and investigative and/or crime scene technology in a private or public agency.
