Touro University California, a rapidly growing university offering graduate programs in health sciences and education, has an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Professor for Touro University College of Education and Health Sciences – Public Health Program on our Mare Island campus. The university is part of the Touro College and University System and is located on the northern tip of San Francisco Bay in Vallejo, California. Touro University California is an independent, non-profit Jewish-sponsored institution. It has 1,403 students in three graduate professional colleges (Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Education and Health Sciences).
The successful applicant will primarily be responsible for teaching Behavioral and Social Aspects of Public Health (3 unit course) and Grant Writing (1 unit course). In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to: • Be involved in community-based participatory programs or research • Provide academic advising to students • Participate on University and Program specific committees • Participate in community partnerships and collaborations • Participate in the development and maintenance of practice sites • Provide service/outreach to the public health community • Maintain currency in the area of training where teaching and research occur • Teach other courses as needed Candidates must adhere to policies and procedures of Touro University California; and perform all responsibilities within the values and professional framework of the mission and vision of the Public Health Program.
