This position will provide administrative and program support to the Executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion. The role is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of education, training and programming, including but not limited to: diversity education/awareness; inclusion; equity; respect; and Title IX. Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion; interpret, monitor, and analyze information regarding operating policies and procedures; monitor and report on budgets; prepares and initiates purchasing-related transactions; makes travel arrangements; and coordinates calendar and schedule for the Executive Director. This position will represent the Office of Diversity and Inclusion with internal and external groups and partners. All duties connected with this position must be performed using sound judgment and with utmost confidentiality at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the Executive Director’s efforts to develop, plan and implement department goals and objectives and to provide strong, visionary strategies and leadership to help advance the Massasoit Community College Strategic Plan.
Coordinate public relations efforts for the department; serve as direct media contact for all diversity/inclusion and Title IX event information; work in coordination with Communication Department and others, as appropriate, to develop public information materials for diversity/inclusion and Title IX events and to craft strategies and supportive information for speeches, scripts, and public relations efforts.
Assist the Executive Director with planning and coordinating all activities related to diversity/inclusion and Title IX events, such as developing creative ideas and themes for events and helping to identify event dates and locations.
Maintain and monitor the annual operating budget for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, including the Women’s Center and the Center for Lifelong Learning; prepare budget recommendations; monitor and control expenditures; process purchase orders for approvals; and keep the Executive Director apprised of any budget concerns.
Represent the department on various committees, projects, and/or boards as appropriate.
Assist the Executive Director with facilitating and coordinating diversity/inclusion and Title IX initiatives, trainings, and presentations.
Deal with confidential and sensitive material and situations.
Provide information, assistance, and services to individuals contacting the office, answering inquiries independently in person, by telephone, or in electronic or paper correspondence. Responds to routine inquiries regarding policies, procedures, events, programs, activities, and initiatives.
Under direction of Executive Director, draft, edit, and distribute documents, meeting summaries, correspondence, and reports related to department programs and initiatives.
Work with Communications Department to maintain and update the Office of Diversity Inclusion databases, listservs, and webpages.
Coordinate Executive Director’s travel arrangements, conference registrations, and receipt of training materials. Prepare and submit travel expense reports and reimbursements.
Assist the Executive Director with scheduling meetings, appointments, etc.
Other duties as assigned in support of the objectives of the office.
Bachelor’s degree in public policy, social work, criminal justice or related field.
Minimum of three years professional work experience in an administrative capacity.
Minimum of two years of Diversity and Inclusion or diversity related experience.
Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in dealing with confidential information and situations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office 2010 suite or higher to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Extensive capacity to generate and edit reports, provide accurate data entry and analysis, word process, and desktop publish to design custom documents and reports.
Demonstrate strong analytical skills.

Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to meet multiple competing deadlines and to work well under pressure.

Knowledgeable about Title IX regulations, guidelines, processes, timelines, and compliance preferred.
Experience working in higher education is preferred.
Non Unit Professional, full-time state funded with benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Salary: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00
