The Synergy Organization is proud to have been retained by a nationally recognized, innovative and financially strong integrated health system in Maryland to conduct the nationwide search for their Director, Safety/Security.
The Director, Safety/Security will have the opportunity to:
Lead, manage and direct safety and security programs to provide for the efficient operation of facilities;
Hire and train outstanding employees from diverse backgrounds on security and safety policies and procedures;
Collaborate with internal departments and staff to maintain a safe environment;
Collaborate external resources, including EMS, Law Enforcement, County and State Emergency Operations;
Maintain compliance with all regulations, including but not limited to The Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards;
Perform environmental and security risk assessments and develop response plans accordingly;
Develop, monitor and maintain policies pertaining to industrial hygiene, hazardous materials handling and emergency response;
Manage the Access control system, including all keying, ID badging and differentiating access privileges;
Serve on workplace committees pertaining to safety and security;
Manage Safety/Security Department’s budgets; and
Serve as a key resource to all employees regarding safety and security.
The successful candidate will bring:
5+ years of management experience with demonstrated success as a strong collaborative leader;
A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field (Master’s preferred);
Membership in the International Association of Healthcare Security, and;
Safety/Security experience in a Healthcare setting preferred.
