Health & Physical Education: The University of Virginia's College at Wise, a nationally ranked four-year public liberal arts college located in the mountains of southwestern Virginia, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Health & Physical Education/Sports Management at the assistant/associate professor level for August 2017. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or plan to complete the degree no later than August 2017.
Candidates should be committed to teaching and be supportive of the broad-based liberal arts program at the College with a wide range of general education requirements. Responsibilities include teaching twelve credit hours (four courses) each semester; teaching load may include supervision of interns as part of the twelve credit hour teaching load. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in kinesiology, motor learning, exercise physiology, and/or human anatomy, or sport management-specific coursework. CPR and First Aid certification preferred, as well as public or private school teaching experience. Salary is negotiable based on experience and other achievements.
